To kick off Phandeeyar’s Startup Challenge 2017 weekend, Myat Charm from Phandeeyar Makerspace talked to the participants about a recent tech trend in manufacturing and production. This new methodology, called Additive Manufacturing, utilizes 3D printing technology to enhance and upgrade the traditional manufacturing and production processes of businessnes.
This special segment was held during Phandeeyar’s Startup Challenge 2017’s on Sunday, 21 May. While it focuses on delivering the news to the teams in the IoT Track, everyone was welcome to join, and the segment had over 30 participants in attendance.
During the first part of the forum, Myat Charm introduced to the teams what 3D printing is, where it is used in the business process, which industries it is most relevant in, and the 7 different types of 3D printing.
During the second part, Myat Charm went into detail on how to utilize 3D printing technologies in either in business or production processes, emphasizing on its usage in the new business model and supply chain innovation. Moreover, Additive Manufacturing can also be used in other areas of business operations such as product innovation, supply chain innovation or even building a new business model by altering both product and supply chain.
