“Civic Tech Fest” is Asia’s first ever civic technology festival and conference, featuring a series of forums, workshops, roundtables, conferences and hackathons related to open data and open government. Two members of Social Impact team participated in this wonderful event that held from 9 to 16 September 2017.
Civic Tech Fest’s main event is “TICTeC@Taipei: The Impacts of Civic Technology Conference“, co-organized by UK group “mySociety“. Started in 2015, TICTeC is the civic tech sector’s annual research conference that focuses on the impacts of civic technology projects.
The festival was also packed with a lot of side events such as 2017 State of the Map Taiwan Summit, 2017 International Data Economy Summit, Code for all Summit, G0V hackathon and many more. We were able to join most of them, learn from others and share our experiences there. It was a great opportunity to connect global civic tech actors from across the world.
